Meat City - very unfortunately and to the great disappointment of his very loyal and long-standing customers - is to close its premises as of Friday 29 August, 2008. This is due to the redevelopment of the area into yet more offices and some very necessary coffee houses.

Nigel will be moving on elsewhere and is also actively seeking a position in a company able to utilise his many years of training and many more of experience; news of that will be posted on this site as it happens.

Any mail sent to his old premises' address will be redirected for one year after closure should you need to keep in touch.

I visited Nigel Armstrong's premises to purchase meat, following a recommendation from a friend. After some visits there, I suggested to Nigel that he should have a Web Site, because I for one wanted to pass on the word to as many as I could.

I heartily recommend Nigel's products to anyone who really wishes to eat the best. Most of his long standing customers regularly make the same recommendation. In fact, Nigel is even recommended by other butchers. There really is a difference to meat that has been reared and prepared in the time honoured fashion.

People travel for miles to visit Nigel's shop, but his mail order service is equally as good. Give it a go, you won't look back.

And now, let Nigel tell you about his products for himself. At Meat City Limited, we sell only naturally reared meats, which means the animals come from an open and free environment. They are fed on a proper herbivorous diet, excluding completely any recycled animal waste. They are not given hormone injections for growth stimulation and they are bred in the time honored fashion, with no genetic modification whatsoever.

There are differing qualities in all methods of animal rearing, but needless to say, we buy only from the best producers around the country. All our meat is hung in the time honoured fashion for the appropriate amount of time. This ensures that we sell only the highest quality meat possible.

I don't yet have the facilities to take Emails so please telephone your order to me. If you can't, UKLive will pass your Emails on to me, but you will get better, faster service by phone and I can inform you immediately what I have in stock and if it's not in stock, I'll get it in for you if I can.
